How Patients Use Our Services
Maria and baby Javier
Initial consultation and eventual membership
Maria contacted us during pregnancy with a known history of low milk production with her previous child. After a one-hour consultation discussing her previous breastfeeding experience and evaluating her medical history and risk factors for low milk production we discussed her risks of low milk production with the next baby and ways to optimize her milk production including labs, supplements and medications. Maria decided to become a member of the practice and the $200 consultation fee was applied to her first month of membership for her and Javier. At the time of birth, we were on the team virtually to support her in the hospital and once she came home she had us on her team for in-person and virtual visits as well as text and phone support as needed. She continued care with us for four months until her production was stable. At that point she decided to continue care as an individual for ongoing care.
Aiden
One-person membership
Aiden contacted us postpartum because they had recurrent clogged ducts and mastitis and they were exclusively pumping. They also were seeking treatment for migraine headaches and post-partum anxiety. Because the baby was bottle fed and cared for by their family physician, Aiden joined as an individual member. They worked with us to understand the cause of the recurrent clogged ducts and mastitis. They also received osteopathic treatment with Dr. Angela for the migraines and benefitted from individualized care for their anxiety. They were happy with the personal care with Midwest Center and after these issues resolved and they weaned, they transitioned to Tallgrass Direct Primary Care.
Armena
One-person membership
Armena contacted us at 6-months postpartum because of a painful episode of mastitis that was not resolving with antibiotics. She had a biopsy of the breast and was diagnosed with granulomatous mastitis. She joined as a member and we coordinated care with radiology and rheumatology for ongoing management leading to resolution of the disease process over time. We also cared for her carpal tunnel syndrome and her post-partum pelvic floor issues.
Sam and baby Felix
Two-person membership
Sam and Felix became members at 3 months postpartum because Felix began having bloody mucousy stools. Sam was exclusively breastfeeding and she was told to remove certain food proteins but this didn't help. She came to us for help with this problem and after three months of care and control of Felix's symptoms they returned to their primary care providers.
